Who We Are

We are the proud family and descendants of Kentiba Okbamichael Tesfayohannes and Etye Gimja Kelati. Our family members span the globe, and we have united to strengthen our bonds, foster connections, and provide support on our life’s journey.
Our forefather, Kentiba Okbamichael Tesfayohannes, was born in the early 1830s in the village of Haddis Adi, Hadegti, near Segeneyti, Eritrea. He was a man of great character, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in God. Kentiba Okbamichael married Etie Gimja Kelati from Hebo, Tsineadegle, who herself was a student of St. Giustino de Jacobis (ቅዱሰ ኣቡነ ያቆብ).
Together, Kentiba Okbamichael and Etie Gimja were blessed with six children, and their descendants have flourished and multiplied across villages, cities, and continents worldwide. Whether in Eritrea or elsewhere, our family has made a lasting impact in various communities.
The diaspora Kentiba Okbamichael Family was officially established during a momentous gathering in Frankfurt, Germany, in May 2017. This moment marked a significant milestone in our collective journey, as we came together to honor our shared heritage and ancestry.
We are committed to utilizing available technology as a means to foster strong connections among family members. Through social media, video conferencing, and online platforms, we can bridge the geographical distances and maintain a sense of togetherness. These digital tools enable us to share updates, organize family events, and support one another, regardless of our physical locations.
Our ultimate goal as the Kentiba Okbamichael Family is to preserve the remarkable legacy of our ancestors while actively contributing to all aspects of societal life. We strive to make a positive difference in our respective communities, embodying the values of kindness, generosity, and faith that were instilled in us by Kentiba Okbamichael and Etie Gimja.
As we continue on this journey together, may our family bonds grow stronger, our connections deepen, and our collective impact resonate throughout the world.
